Mark Anthony Bartlett Obituary

Orient, Maine - Mark Anthony Bartlett, 59, passed away unexpectedly May 6, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and resilience. Mark was born July 19, 1965, in Houlton, to Virgil and Carol (Putnam) Bartlett.

A 1983 graduate of Hodgdon High School, Mark built his life in Orient, Maine, where he found joy in the simple pleasures of the outdoors. From his early days spent on his grandfather's farm with his cousins, to a career in the woods, Mark was most at home in the outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, ATVing, and recently, gardening and chickens - anything that connected him to being outside.

For many years, he ran Bartlett's General Store, a hub for the local community and for those passing through. Known affectionately as "Sparky," Mark's nickname reflected his electric personality. His quick wit, laugh, and uncanny ability to entertain made him unforgettable. He brought humor to every room and left a trail of memories for those that knew him.

Mark is survived by his children, Lexi, Skylie and Gage Bartlett; fiancée, Fran Sabatis and her sons, Joseph and Gabe; siblings, Micah Bartlett and Heather (Greg) Douglass; nieces and nephews, Ethan and Seth Bartlett, and Kinsley Douglass; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Fritz, Claira, and Koda. He is fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Carol and Virgil Bartlett.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call 4-6 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park St., Houlton. A celebration of Mark's life will follow at 64 Peter's Cove Rd., Orient, where friends and family are invited to share stories, laughter, and a toast to a life lived fully but taken too soon.
