Blaine and Presque Isle - Marjorie Terrell, 94, passed away Monday, September 3, 2018, at a Presque Isle hospital. She was born April 23, 1924, in St. John New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Ernest and Vena (West) Powell.
Marjorie grew up in St. John, and graduated from local schools. She married Charles Terrell in 1958, and they would share fifty wonderful years together. Marjorie worked as a bookkeeper for twenty-seven years at Smith Packing. She was a longtime member of Faith Baptist Chapel in Blaine, and most recently attended East Ridge Union Church. She was faithful to her Lord and Savior and was known to frequently say "God is so good to me". She loved holidays when the family would all get together; she especially loved having the children around her. Marjorie and Charles did not have any natural children of their own, but there are many children whom they have mentored and loved as their own.
Marjorie is survived by a brother, Don Powell; a sister, Jean White; a sister-in-law, Arlene Powell, all of St. John; and a brother-in-law, Bertram McCrum of Mars Hill. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, and will be especially missed by a special niece, Ethelyn Boyd and her family; special friends, Dalton Scovil and family, Chris and Kristy Nicholas and family, and many others. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Charles Terrell and two brothers, George and Robert Powell.
Friends may call 1 p.m. Friday, September 7, 2018 at the East Ridge Union Church, where a service will be conducted at 2 p.m. with Revs. Lawrence Beals, Vincent Morneault, and Leroy Frost officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to a reception at the church fellowship hall immediately following the service. Interment will take place at Tapley Cemetery in Blaine following the reception.
