Madawaska, Maine - Marilyn E. Bard, 83, died July 3, 2026, at a Bangor hospital, following a brief illness. She was born March 17, 1943, in Madawaska, a daughter of the late Claude and Estelle (Hebert) Bard and was a graduate of Madawaska High School, class of 1961.

Marilyn was a secretary in the superintendent's office for more than 38 years in the Madawaska School Department, until her retirement in 2000. She loved interacting with the students, teachers, and staff of the Madawaska schools. Marilyn was a devout Catholic, was a lifelong parishioner of St. Thomas Church, and always kept her rosary close. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by four siblings, Raynold Bard and his wife, Christine, of Florida, Roderick Bard and his wife, Barbara, of South Portland, Norma Berube and her husband, Daniel, of Madawaska, and Rachel Bates and her husband, Chester, of Madawaska; her longtime companion, Fern Cyr of Madawaska; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 20, 2026, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Madawaska. Relatives and friends may greet the family Monday morning 9-9:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
