Alexandria, VA, Virginia - Marie Antoinette Trottier was born in Charleston, Maine, on October 23, 1958, and passed away Feb. 25, 2025. She was predeceased by her parents, Leita Malone Trottier and Regis Trottier; and her half siblings, Priscilla Maillet LaPrise, Daniel Maillet, Beatrice Maillet Eaton and Barbara Maillet Cohen. She is survived by her half brother, Victor Maillet; as well as several beloved nieces and nephews, godchildren, and cousins. Cousin and godmother, she was beloved by her extended family and friends to whom she brought countless hours of joy and laughter.

Marie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Allan Macurdy. Allan, who was a professor of law at Boston University, served as the University's Disabilities Coordinator, and was also an advocate on behalf of marginalized groups. He and Marie shared more than fifteen happy years together in Boston and in their summer home at Boothbay Harbor, Maine.

Marie worked for more than two decades at Harvard University, serving as the University's Disability Coordinator. After leaving Harvard she worked at the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, where she served as assistant general manager for system-wide accessibility, and then relocated to Alexandria, Virginia, to take up a position in the Dept. of Homeland Security, serving as the outreach and engagement program manager in the Civil Rights Office of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA.) Marie served her country in this capacity for nearly ten years, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues and the travelers who she served.
