Corinth, Maine - Marie R. Megquier, 88, the wife of Sherwood L. Megquier, died peacefully at her home after a long illness. She was born April 12, 1929, in Garland, the daughter of Rethel and Marion (Guppy) Rowe. She graduated from East Corinth Academy, class of 1947 and was a lifelong member of the Corinth United Methodist Church. Marie was very active in the community and was a Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star # 154, a member of the Farm Bureau, the Church Couples Club, the Square Dancing Club, the 1500 lbs. Club and Aldworth Chapter, # 59 O.E.S. of Milo. Marie enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, knitting and doing puzzles.

In addition to her loving husband Sherwood, Marie is survived by a daughter, Wendy Shea and Kevin W. Kelley; three grandchildren, Todd and Tena Wilson, James Wilson and Gregory Humphrey and Melissa and Kermit Tate and several great grandchildren. Marie was predeceased by her first husband, Eugene D. Sweet, a daughter, Marion Wilson, her parents and two brothers, Arthur and Ashley Rowe. She will be remembered by her lifelong friends, Chris and Val McCorrison, Wilhelmina Collins, Ken and Beverly Tate, Helen True, Ray and Polly Thompson and her grand-niece, Jennifer Megquier. A special thank you to Bangor Area Visiting Nurses, Eastern Maine Home Care, Loving Touch In Home Care and Hospice of Eastern Maine.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at the Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Apr. 26, 2017, at the Corinth United Methodist Church, 275 Main St., Corinth, with Pastor John Robbins officiating. Those who wish may make donations in memory of Marie to the Corinth United Methodist Church or a charity of their choice. Family and friends are invited to share a luncheon at the church for refreshment and fellowship following the service.
