Marcia E. (Alley) Skeate

Marcia E. (Alley) Skeate passed away on May 1, 2026, at the age of 93. Marcia was born on January 23, 1933, in Harrington, Maine, the daughter of Merton S. and Kathryn (Hartford) Alley.
After four years in the U.S. Navy, Marcia retired and married the love of her life, Roy P. Skeate, in 1955. The couple had three sons and continued to travel until 1964, where they resided in Salem, New Hampshire. In 1973 the family purchased property in Columbia, Maine, and renovated an old piece of blueberry farm that was nicknamed, "The Last Anchorage."
The years following Marcia was often found on the blueberry fields teaching her grandchildren the value of a dollar. She enjoyed knitting, genealogy, puzzles, watching Patriot's football, and spending time with family.
She is survived by her three sons, Scott B. Skeate and wife, Donna, of Stuart Draft, VA, Stuart R. Skeate and wife, Debbie, of Columbia, ME, and Sheldon N. Skeate and wife, Nancy of Columbia, ME, She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Keith H. Alley, Mervin S. Alley, and Lester L. Alley; and one sister, Marie A. Nichols. She is also predeceased by her best friend, Ruth (Spanky) Stewart.
At her request, there will be no services. Donations may be sent to Cancer Fund of Maine or Ronald McDonald House of Bangor.

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.
June - December
Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
