Thomaston, Connecticut - Lynda J. (Nelson) Nobrega, 77, of Thomaston, CT, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, October 6, 2024, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Ronald Nobrega for 54 years.

Lynda was born in West Enfield, ME, on July 10, 1947, a daughter of the late Elwood and Elnora (Nadeau) Nelson. She was educated in Maine and attended the University of Maine. Lynda was a first runner up in the Miss Maine Pageant and won the Miss Congeniality portion of the pageant. She loved to read, loved to shop, loved to knit, loved the beach, and most of all loved her family with every fiber of her being.

Besides her husband, Ronald, she leaves her sons, Ryan J. Nobrega and his wife, Sonia, of Unionville, CT, and Brent N. Nobrega and his partner, Debra Carlson, of Terryville, CT; and grandchildren, Devin and Alessandra Nobrega. She was predeceased by her son, Devin S. Nobrega.

Lynda's funeral will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Saint Leo's in Howland, Maine, at 10 a.m. for a Mass of Christian burial. Her interment will follow at Saint Matthews Cemetery in West Enfield.
