Lorraine Martin Obituary

Madawaska, Maine - Lorraine Martin, 87, passed away on January 19, 2025, at a Madawaska health care facility. She was born in Baker Lake on May 15, 1937, daughter of the late Josephel and Methaide (Cyr) Soucy.

She loved knitting and crocheting in her spare time. She also enjoyed playing cards. She worked at Acadian Crafts for many years, but she loved her job at the Madawaska High School cafeteria.

She is survived by three children, David Martin and his wife, Mary, of Clinton, MA, Paul Martin of Madawaska, and Lynn Clavette and her husband, Danny, of Frenchville; two grandchildren, Scott Clavette of Portland, and Julie Clavette of Frenchville; one sister, Viola "Bie" Vienneau of Baker Brook; one sister-in-law, Germaine Soucy of Edmundston. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Martin, in 2007. The family would like to thank the staff at Country Village Estates for their excellent care and compassion shown to our mom.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. on Monday, January 27, 2025, at St. Thomas Church. Relatives and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home in Madawaska from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday. There will be no visiting hours on Monday before the Mass.
