Lisa L. Grant

November 27, 1961 - December 25, 2018

Orrington - Lisa L. (Martin) Grant, 57, passed away unexpectedly Christmas Day in Gouldsboro. She was born Nov. 27, 1961, to Raynald and Jennie Martin.

A graduate of Brewer High School and the University of Maine, Lisa worked many years with Dahl Chase Diagnostic Services before taking on a new challenge in medical supply sales at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Many of her coworkers and employees became longtime friends.

Lisa loved her family beyond all else. She selflessly devoted her time and energy to supporting her loved ones. She married Mike Grant, the love of her life, on March 17, 2001 and quickly adopted his passion for the Anah Shriners. She took immense pride in her children, boasting about them at every opportunity. She was eagerly preparing for her son Jake's wedding this summer.

She was a world traveler, always looking forward to the next trip to Scotland, France or the Caribbean alongside her family or dear Shriner friends.

Lisa is survived by her parents; her adored husband; sons Nick and girlfriend Nyssa Gatcombe, Jake McCrea and fiancée Ellie Webb; daughter Erin Grant; sisters Denise Sawyer and husband Rick, Andrea Haskell and husband Charlie, Michelle Nyberg and husband Chris; seven nieces and nephews; one great-niece; three great-nephews; much loved in-laws Lawrence and Joyce Grant; brother-in-law Mark Grant; and grand-dogs Theo and Wish.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children, c/o Anah Shrine, 1404 Broadway, Bangor, ME 04401. The family also asks that those attending services wear purple in remembrance of Lisa's favorite color.

Family and friends are invited to visit 3-7 PM Friday, January 4, 2019, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday, January 5, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Mary's Catholic Church, 768 Ohio St., Bangor. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Ohio St., Bangor. Following the services, all are invited to the church hall for a reception.

Kevin met Lisa years ago, they worked together at Dahl Chase. Kevin was searching for a bagpipe band to join when we moved to Maine, so of course Lisa suggested the Anah Temple Highlanders. Lisa was always so cheerful and fun to be with. She will be sadly missed.

It is so sad to say goodbye to you Lisa. You were my very first friend when I moved to Maine 30 years ago. I will always remember how warmly you welcomed me. Your smile. Your laugh. Your "take" on things! You made it EASY to become friends! In those early years you blessed us twice: You agreed to be my bridesmaid and you asked Jim to be Jake's godfather - truly incredible gifts! You have had our lifetime gratitude! We know how very happy you were to marry Mike. And the love of your children was ever present. Thank you for sharing so freely of your time and talents with others while remaining true to yourself. You have left behind a legacy of having lived life kindly, joyfully and lo...vingly. Rest in peace dear Lisa ... You will be missed. ❤️Read more

My sincere sympathy to the entire Grant and Martin families on Lisa's passing. Although I had just gotten to know Lisa, it was apparent immediately that she was a very special lady with so much to offer everyone she came in contact with in her professional life. She will be greatly missed by her new Thermo Fisher family.

I am very sorry for your loss. When I lost my sister, I gained true comfort and hope from the promise of a resurrection found at John 5:28,29. This gives us hope for a time when we can see our loved ones again. I hope your family finds comfort from this as mine has.
