Scarborough - Leonard L. 'Lenny' Comeau, 77, passed away at home on Wednesday, May 9, 2018.
Born in Orono on February 11, 1941, Lenny was the son of the late Leo Herbert Comeau and Corinne (Guay) Comeau. He graduated from Orono High School in 1959 and from the Culinary Arts Program at Southern Maine Technical College in 1961.
In 1964, Lenny married the love of his life, Judith M. Rand. Together, they made their home at 31 Reynolds Street where they raised their family. For over 50 years, he made his career as a baker, chef and caterer. He retired after 27 years as the food service director at the Deering Pavilion for the Diocese of Portland. He was a loyal and active member of the Knights of Columbus - Cheverus Council in South Portland.
Lenny will be forever missed for his love of food, delicious seafood and chowders, and his incredible sense of humor.
In addition to his parents, Lenny is predeceased by his son, Randy Comeau.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judith Comeau of Scarborough; children, Leonard Jr. and Edd Russo of Hartford, CT; Janet and Jack Kaplan of Embden, ME, and James Comeau of Orono. He was the beloved grandfather of Randi and Paul Kaplan and Thomas Leonard Comeau. He also leaves his sister, Frances Treadwell of Orono and brother, Herbert and Julia Comeau of So. Addison. He is also survived by many dear nieces, nephews, and 'in-laws'.
Lenny's family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of Maine Health Care at Home and the special team of Sharon, Alicia, and Stephanie for their loving care and support. In addition they would like to thank Kim, a very special nurse from the Hospice of Southern Maine.
