Williamsport, Pennsylvania - Lawrence W. Emery Jr. left this earthly world on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, after an extended illness. Larry was born in Bangor, ME, in 1942. He was one of 6 children born to Lawrence W Emery Sr. and Virginia Moulton Emery.

Emery's Market, a local grocery store was the family business, providing much enjoyment for the growing family. Larry graduated Bangor High School in 1960 and went to on to earn his BS in education from the University of Maine, Orono. Later he earned his MS in education, guidance, and counseling from State University Of New York College at Oneonta, Oneonta, NY. He completed additional graduate work at State University of NY and Penn State University. He served in the United States Air Force 1966-1970, and honorably discharged.

Larry retired, after 32 years, from the Pennsylvania College of Technology, formerly the Williamsport Area Community College. He held the positions of director of advisement and career services, coordinator of new options/sex equity project, and his favorite position, career counselor.

He was married to his devoted wife, E. Margaret "Maggie" Emery, for 47 years. Together they owned and operated Serene View Farm Bed and Breakfast, where they opened their home to hundreds of wonderful people for 22 years.

His favorite past time was volunteering as grid martial for the Sports Car Club of America at Watkins Glen and various other tracks. On Sundays, you would find him attending Loyalsock Baptist Church. Larry was a long time member of the Plunketts Creek Township Fire Department, served on the planning commission and was a school board member for Montoursville Area School District.

Larry's life exemplified selflessness, faith, love of Jesus, and generosity. We remember and will forever cherish his love of family, friends, and those whose lives he touched in such special ways. Larry's humor and quick wit would light up a room and put a smile on your face!

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brother, Steven Emery; and great-granddaughter, Abigail Bobinger.
