Kay F. Langley
Kay was an avid reader and shared her love of books with her family and often sent award winning books as birthday and Christmas gifts. Very rarely would you see Kay without an interesting novel in her hands. When she wasn't reading, Kay also loved sketching designs and creating sewing patterns. During her years as a buyer for JC Penney, she was also known to have created original design patterns and sketches for the company. Kay was a very talented seamstress and designed and created many beautiful quilts for her family over the years. These quilts will be cherished for many more years to come.
Kay also enjoyed time at the family strawberry and vegetable farm. Every summer during her 25 years in Boston Kay would take a month off to travel to Maine and stay with her brother and his family. She would help pick and sell strawberries and help with other day to day duties that come with crop farming. At the end of a long day on the farm she would enjoy a good book out under the maple tree. She was also a self-admitted "foodie" and never turned down a good meal. Some of her favorite foods during her summers on the farm were lobster dinners, seafood platters, summer BBQs, strawberry shortcake and any home cooked meal.
Kay was predeceased by a special great-nephew, Alan Langley. She is survived by her brother Michael Langley and his wife Sharon; by her nieces Laura Langley Guzman and Amy Langley and her nephew Bart Langley.
