June F. Smith

June F. (Smith) Smith passed on August 7, 2019 in Bangor, ME. She was the wife of Aubrey M. Smith (deceased) and the daughter of Irma C. and Frank A. Smith. She is survived by a sister, Nannette, and three adult children, Darlene, Robbie, and Libby. Mom had many special relationships with her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren, Michael, Amelia, and Nicole, and just a few months ago met her first great-grandchild, Caroline. There will be a time, for those who wish, to attend a brief reading of the Word and an Eastern Star service at the Congregational Church (United Church of Christ) 27 Church St, Presque Isle at 1:00 on Sunday, August 25th. Please join us, as we honor her life of caring in the many roles she so willingly aspired to and her legacy of joy in piano. A special friend will be in Fellowship Hall afterwards to play Mom's favorite music. We hope you will be there, as well, for song and stories - - and to reminisce in the mutual loss of a friend. Mom was happy whether reacting to a good joke or listening over tea with a lifelong friend. Bring an expressions of friendship to share, if you wish. Our Gathering of Remembrance will honor a humble and fun-loving woman, whose family was her greatest joy, whose friends were blessings to her, and who shined when playing her piano.

Just heard of your mom’s passing. Oh, how I loved visiting with June when we could. I remember the laughter between all our parents. What joy they brought to each other for so many years. So thankful she is no longer struggling. Thinking of you all. Not much fun being orphans! Hugs and prayers to you all.

Dear Smith Family, my sincere condolences at June's passing. I am who I am today because of her and my early morning piano lessons in the space between your kitchen and living room. Hardly a day passes that I am not in front of my piano's keyboard. It became my dearest friend and I am so thankful for the persistence and patience your mum had for me. I will do my best to be in attendance next Sunday to pay tribute to her wonderful legacy. May God bless and uphold you all at this time, Kim (Day) Kiehn, Caribou, Maine
