Hampden, Maine - Joyce Brown of Hampden, ME, passed away on August 9, 2025, at the age of 87. She was born in Hampden on July 30, 1938, to the late Paul and Clarise Patterson.
She was first and foremost a loving wife and mother to her husband and two children. For many years she cared for her sister, Rita, who suffered with cerebral palsy. She worked in the postal service as a clerk in Hampden, supervisor in Bangor and finally as postmaster in Winterport. Joyce enjoyed camping with her friends in her early days, as well as gardening, knitting and reading in her spare time.
She was predeceased by her husband, Roland Brown; brother, Arthur Patterson; and sister, Rita Patterson. She is survived by her bother, Vernon Patterson and wife, Judy; daughter, Kathlyn Worzel; son Richard Brown and wife, Jeanie; and two grandsons, Michael Brown and Darren Brown.
