Receiving will be followed by the service, officiated by his daughter Rev. Deanna Partridge.
Joe's ashes, along with those of his wife Marcia, will be placed at the Central Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 218 Civic Center Drive, Augusta. Navy Funeral Honors and Committal Ceremony will be at 2pm on Thursday, April 25th.
Joe held many jobs in his lifetime including mechanic, race car driver, gas station and garage owner, school bus driver, and postal worker. Joe served his country in the United States Navy from 1958-1962. He retired from the Postal Service as Postmaster for Etna, Maine, in 2002.
Joe was an avid outdoorsman. He especially loved to fish -- for anything, in any type of water, in all seasons. He was an accomplished fly fisher and taught fly tying to countless area children. He served his community as a Mason, a Shriner, and officer in several local fishing clubs.
Joe had a great sense of humor, a knack for getting out of scrapes that turned into wonderful tall tales, a boyish smile, a mischevious charm, and a big heart. He loved deeply and was loved deeply.
Joe was predeceased by his wife Marica (Harris); his parents Mary (Raynor) and Harry Partridge, his sister Kathy Brown, and his dear friend George Connors.
Joe is survived by his sister Bobbi and her husband Doug Dobler; his brother-in-law Lloyd Harris and his wife Christine; his daughter Deanna, her partner Scott Sander and children Kasey and Aksel; his daughter-in-law Stephanie, and children Reagan and Grady. His son Derek is missing since 2015.
Joe had many dear friends, including Linden Buzzle, Gerard Connors, John McGrath, Keith Miller, Janice Mitchell, and David O'Donald. Joe also loved the Maine Veterans Home staff, especially Becky Lutz, Danielle Moshier, and Lisa Morton.
Memorial donations may be made to the Maine Veterans Home Bangor Residents Activities Program.
