Indian Township - Jermiah Kuhas "Miah" Stevens, 16, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2019 at the Elizabeth Levinson Center in Bangor. Miah was born in Calais on February 3, 2003. Jermiah loved his Native American music, being read to, swimming, and his extended visits with his grandmother Annabelle and sister Aneea.
Miah was predeceased by a grandfather,Howie Stevens; and an uncle, Troy Sockabasin Surviving are his mother Rosalie Stevens; his father Walter Tomah; grandmothers, Annabelle Meader-Sockabasin and Susie Tomah; grandfather Matthew Dana I; great-grandmother Joan Dana; two sisters, Aneea Lewey and Kelsey LaCoote; six brothers, Travon Rhodes, Shane Lewey, Walter Brown, Aiden Tomah, Seneca Tomah and Kenai Tomah; aunts and uncles, Glenn Sockabasin (Godfather), Howie and Heather (Godmother) Sockabasin, Lucy and William Nicholas, and Becky and Kevin Bailey; cousins, Julia and Adrianna, William "Cole" Jr and Cheyenne, Roslyn, Caleb, Reanna, Paige and Dehkin; many other aunts, uncles and cousins; and his extended family at the Elizabeth Levinson Center in Bangor, where he received love and care throughout his life. The support the staff has given Miah is very much appreciated by the family.
Visiting hours will be held at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., on Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 2- 5 p.m., and on Sunday, June 2 from 2-6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Kevin J. Martin 11 a.m. Monday, June 3, at St. Ann R.C. Church, Peter Dana Point. Burial will follow at the Indian Township Tribal Cemetery. Condolences and memories may be shared at
