Newport, Maine - Jennifer Lynn Berry, born on April 1, 1985, passed peacefully on Sunday, February 26, 2023, surrounded by her family. She will be forever remembered as one of the strongest people on earth due to all the health issues she overcame during her life. At age 17, she was diagnosed with a PNET Brain tumor which she overcame and was considered in full remission; however, continued to work through related health issues the remainder of her life.

She was an extremely kind, polite, spirited, and beautiful person who cared deeply for her family, friends and pets.

She loved time with her family and friends and her smile could light up any room. She was a lifelong resident of Newport and was a 2003 graduate of Nokomis Regional High School. She had many hobbies and interests, such as snowmobiling, horseback riding, enjoying time with her pets, and more recently grew increasing fond of the beauty of flowers. She also had a love for music which was fostered by her favorite teacher, Mr. Bruce Brown, who played his guitar at her 30th birthday party, which made her very happy.

Jennifer is survived by her parents, Steve and Donna Berry; her sister, Melissa Kosobud and husband, Jon; niece, Brynlee; nephew, Rhett; and her grandmother, Alice Peck, who she had a very special bond with, all of Newport. Jennifer was predeceased by her grandparents: Richard Peck of Newport, and Connie and Arnold Hartford of Malone, Florida.

Jennifer had a special bond with staff and residents at Creative Work Systems in Augusta, where she spent the last 7 years of her life. They will forever be remembered for being her second family and their extraordinary efforts in making her life the best it could be.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2023, at Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield. A graveside service will be held in the spring at the Riverside Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Newport.
