Jeanne Kerns Obituary
Gorham, Maine - Jeanne Louise Rigby Kerns, 76, left this Earthly word to join her husband, Gary, in Heaven on April 30, 2026. Born September 1, 1949, Jeanne lived a life full of kindness and generosity with a deep commitment to family and friends.
She was a beloved sister, mother, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. Jeanne is survived by her sister, Christine Cote of Blue Hill; her daughter, Pam and partner, Stacy; daughter, Lori and husband, Jessie; son, Donny and wife, Angela; grandchildren, India and husband, Dan, Andrea, Nicholas, Paige and Liam; and great-grandchildren, Sparrow, Hemingway and Mello. Jeanne was also a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 57 years, Gary M. Kerns; her parents, Lloyd and Jennie Rigby; and her sister, Connie Bridge.
Jeanne's home was a hub of warmth and laughter; her potato salad and chocolate cake were staples for the family gatherings - she loved hosting. Jeanne found great joy in family game nights, creating cherished memories with games like Uno, Sorry! and Yahtzee. More often than not she would be working on a large jigsaw puzzle on the custom puzzle table Gary built. She was a homemaker for many years, then went to work for Hannaford Bros., first in Hampden and then at the Brunswick location when the family moved to Topsham in 1986. Her natural compassion and eagerness to help others shined brightly during her years of customer service.
A celebration of Jeanne's life will be held at a date to be determined.
