Addison, Maine - Jeanette E. Perry, 89, left this world on June 9, 2026, with the same determination and strength she exuded her entire life. She was born on December 7, 1936, to Warren and Mable (Hodgkins) Trundy; and was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, John "Jack" W. Perry, on September 14, 2001.

To say Jeanette lived a life of service would be a vast understatement. She contributed to this world far more than she ever took. Some of her acts of service included, serving as chairwoman and grand marshal for the Addison Bicentennial, planning Addison's Memorial Day services in partnership with her husband, serving as president of the Addison Cemetery Association, serving as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post #11533, and serving as a Past (Worthy) Matron of Wescogus Chapter #101 of Eastern Star. She was a trustee of the Mayhew Library as well as a lifetime patron. She was a member of the Addison, and then later, Columbia Falls United Methodist Church and United Methodist Woman's Organization. She was a member of the Addison Alumni which later became known as Addison School Days Organization. She also was a knowledgeable and active participant of the Church on the Hill, and made many other contributions, too numerous to list.

With all Jeanette's accomplishments, the roles that brought her the greatest amount of pride and joy were those of "Mama," "Gram," and "Rant Nette." Both her children and grandchildren had the incredible privilege of attending school with her. Jeanette started her career at the S.S. Nash School in 1970, and upon its closing moved to the D.W. Merritt School where she retired in 1998. Jeanette served a number of roles at school. She served as a teacher's aide and assisted with the hot lunch program. In her earlier years, she coached and made cheering uniforms and chaperoned a class trip to Washington, D.C.. In her later years, and specifically for her grandchildren, she was the keeper of the graham crackers, our backup bus plan, toller of book fair money, and our constant safety net.

Jeanette also made time to enjoy parts of life so many people take for granted. She enjoyed helping run church suppers on Wednesday nights, and especially enjoyed when her granddaughters were old enough to work alongside her. She enjoyed camping with her family and lifetime friends, Lennox and Laura Ramsay at Mt. Katahdin. She valued spending time with her extended family and friends at Parks Pond. She accompanied her parents and siblings "down river," enjoying trips to Raspberry Island. She later enjoyed these same trips with her family and close family friends, Lloyd and Betty Jordan. Before her husband's passing, she spent much of her retirement working alongside him on their lobster boat, The Periwinkle. If you left Jeanette's house hungry that was your own fault. Her famous, as her family calls them, oatmeal chocolate chip cookies lived in the cookie jar by the door. You didn't leave without grabbing one on your way out. It seems only fitting that she fills this cookie jar one last time, as her final resting place.

Jeanette is survived by her oldest son, Ward and wife, Harriet, and their children, Asa Worcester (Hitomi) and their children, Chris (daughter, Kaylee) and Jeremy (fiancé, Emely), Stephen Worcester (Amber) and their children, Katie and Kambra, Carole Hart (Ben) and their children, Beecher and Coralei, Jill Leighton (Ryan) and their children, Aziahauna Rustmann (Brandon), Matthew Hurlbert, Ava Leighton, Mason Hurlbert, and Jordan Hurlbert; and her youngest son, Leon Perry and wife, Laurie, and their children, Sarah Hurlbert (Mark) and their children, Mark and Maddox, and Julie Perry (fiancé, Josh). Jeanette is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her older brother, Elwin Trundy; and younger sister, Ann Russell.

The family also wishes to extend a special thank you to caregivers, Barbara, Marilyn, Hilary, Bonnie, and Sarah; as well as the staff at the Maine Veterans' Home, Machias.

A funeral will be held at the National Wreaths Across America Headquarters, in the gymnasium, 4 Point St., Columbia Falls, ME on June 27, 2026, beginning at 12:30 p.m. A private burial with immediate family will take place at a later date. At that time, Jeanette will be laid to rest next to her husband at Church on the Hill Cemetery in Addison. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a memorial donation in Jeanette's honor to the Mayhew Library, P.O. Box 152, Addison, ME 04606. Jeanette leaves an outstanding legacy in the hearts of all she loved and of all those who loved her.
