Fort Kent, Maine - Jason Michaud passed away on May 18, 2026. Jay was born in Saginaw, Michigan, on March 9, 1974.

He grew up in Old Orchard Beach, and later, Scarborough, Maine, where he graduated high school in 1992. Jay was a rebel, and a sensitive soul. He loved hard rock and metal, for which he had the encyclopedic knowledge and the deep insights of the best music journalists.

From the late-90s through the 2010s, Jay lived in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he worked and managed in the restaurant and bar industry. He worked hard, had fun, and made lifelong friends who got him, his soul dog, Zoe, always by his side.

A devoted son, Jay was predeceased by his mother, Helene (Dubois) Michaud, and in the mid-2010s, returned to Northern Maine to care for his ailing father. The two were close, partners in crime through some of the strangest days, like the surreal experience of the pandemic. In winter 2026, Jay's father entered end of life care. Jay plunged into a despair deeper than any of us could imagine, pulling him farther away than any of us could reach.

For us, who loved him and survive him: father, Thomas Michaud Sr.; brother, Thomas Jr., and Jay's nephew, Joshua and niece, Nicole of Florida; brother, Damien Michaud of Maine and his wife, Sandy, nephews, Eli Michaud and Finn Michaud, and niece, Arlo Michaud; sister, Mia of Maine; and her beloved, Ben Harvell; and his countless friends across the years, we choose to focus on the good times.

These good times include, the triumph of the Red Sox's improbable playoff run and World Series victory in 2004, his karaoke rendition of Radar Love, or his coarse, abrupt laugh which never came at anyone else's expense, but was always an invitation to laugh along with him.
