Friendship, Maine - Our precious mother, Janice Marie Roberts, 82, passed away peacefully at her home in Friendship, Maine, on December 8, 2023. Janice was born on February 19, 1941, in Cleveland, Ohio.

She lived a life full of adventures, some of which started when she moved to Maine. She owned and operated a wine and cheese shop in Camden, while raising her two children. She lived in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, where she helped build a cabin and homesteaded the land with her family. Moving back to Maine, she worked at Bar Harbor Airlines as a ticket agent, where she made lifelong friendships. Her final career endeavor took her to EMMC where she retired at the age of 62. Jan had a passion for travel and loved seeing new places. Her dear friend, Barbara, was her best traveling companion, and they shared many adventures together. Jan is remembered by her friends and family as a warm and devoted woman, who brought laughter and light through her care for those around her. She had a lifelong love of cooking and baking. Her family remembers many fond games of Scattergories, birthday lunches, and beach days with Jan, and they hold these memories close. Jan's faith in God was a steady assurance to her throughout her life, and her family takes comfort knowing she is at peace with the Lord.

Jan was the beloved mother of her son, Stephen Roberts and his wife, Elizabeth, of Cumberland, Maryland; and her daughter, Hadassah Watson and her husband, Chris, of Friendship, Maine. She was the very proud grandmother of her beloved grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah, and Kyle; and great-grandchildren, Ella, Anna, and Meriadoc. She is also survived by her two treasured sisters, Joanne and Nancy, of Ohio, and their families.

Jan was predeceased by her mother, Mary; and her father, John.

Jan's family is planning a celebration of life in the spring of 2024. Details will be announced at a later date.
