Janet Bedard Obituary
West Enfield, Maine - Janet Daigle Bedard, 74, danced away on May 30, 2026, body and mind restored in the loving arms of God. Mom was born July 5, 1951, to Omer and Amilda Daigle and raised in West Enfield.
She graduated in 1969 and began a lifelong career of waitressing. She married first husband Richard and together they had two children. Though they later divorced, they remained friends to the end. Mom even helped us care for him when he became ill.
She married her best friend and soulmate, Gregory, in 2001. They had a wonderful life together, traveling all over, often on their Harley. They lived many years in Zephyrhills, Florida. Mom loved her "little Maine." She worked at many restaurants, most notably the 95er in Howland, Chowder House and Piccola's in Florida, where she made many lifelong friends.
They returned to Maine full time in 2024. Greg built her a new home that she loved. They could be found at all the local music jams and having Sunday dinner at her daughters. Besides music and dancing, Mom loved traveling, her Catholic faith, the Fryeburg Fair, Moxie, whoopie pies, all things patriotic, her beloved "baby" Franklin, her annual "cousins" trips and above all, her family and friends. She was kind, sensitive, and generous. She would help anyone anytime and if she couldn't do it, she would nominate Greg for the job. She's left us many happy memories and though we will miss her immensely, we take comfort in knowing that she is finally at peace.
Surviving are devoted husband, Greg, who lovingly cared for her these last several years; son, Ronald; daughter, Angela; granddaughter, Jaide; sister, Gail (Lynden); nephews, Jamie, Jeremy, and Jaksin; stepchildren/grandchildren, Scott, Sharon, Alexis, Riley, and Walker; and many other family and friends too numerous to mention. She was predeceased by her parents; and brother, Ronald.
Our family expresses our deepest gratitude to Bristol Hospice and PVH for their kind and compassionate care of mom.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on June 12 at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 18 River Rd., Howland followed by a light luncheon at the American Legion in Howland.
