Plymouth, Maine - James E. Getchell, 77, died on July 31, 2022, in Pittsfield.

James was born on February 4, 1945, in Bangor, Maine, the son of the late Earl Edward Getchell and Florence Louise (Murphy) Getchell. He joined the Army and proudly served our country during the Vietnam Era. He worked for many years at Main Manufacturing in Nashua, NH.

James was foremost a devout Christian and attended the Celebrate Jesus Church in Pittsfield. He also enjoyed going to the White Mountains and along the Maine coast. They were some of his favorite places to visit as his passion was photography and taking pictures with an old Polaroid camera and tripod.

He is survived by his daughter, Sherri Rowell and husband, David, of Nashua, NH; his son, Jeffrey Getchell of Nashua, NH; brother, Dana Getchell of California; nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his brother, Melvin Getchell; and sister, Frances Woodbury.

A graveside service will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, August 20, at Snows Corner Cemetery, Fuller Road in Hermon, with Pastor Tom Duperry officiating. Military honors will be presented for his service to our country.
