Falmouth, Maine - Jacques Gédéon Larochelle passed away on May 10, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Jacques lived a life of caring for others and was especially known for his work ethic, his ability to connect with others, and his enthusiasm for life. He went above and beyond to help others throughout his life, giving generously of his time and energy.

Jacques was born in St-Prosper, Quebec, on May 24, 1955, to Alfrédas and Yvette Larochelle. He grew up in Jackman, Maine, where he developed his work ethic early, logging in the woods alongside his father. He went on to attend the University of Southern Maine and earned his MD at the University of Vermont College of Medicine. For 30 years, he served as an emergency medicine physician at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, treating patients and their families with compassion and becoming a beloved mainstay of the local community.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; their six sons, Matthieu, Nicholas (Zea), Michael (Marissa), Christian (Vera), Ryan (Sarah), and Jacques (Maddie); nine grandchildren; and his sisters, Francine, France, Jeannine, and Jeanne, and his brother, Richard, and their families.

Jacques was the ultimate family man. His ability to fit so much into a day - and to be truly present in each moment - was remarkable. He spent countless hours coaching his sons' youth baseball and basketball teams, and he also valued quieter time at home with Carolyn and the kids: working in the garden, watching sports, or simply talking. His home in Bangor, affectionately known as KidsAcres, was a gathering place for family and friends and will live on in many memories. He especially cherished the memory of clearing trails in the woods with his sons and the summer family road trips to Jackman, Katahdin, Acadia, Quebec (to visit his extended family), Montreal, and Popham Beach.

Jacques treasured the friendships he had from childhood, school, his work as a physician, and beyond. Faith was important to him, and he enjoyed running, sports, music, and spending time outside. Yet for all his interests and accomplishments, what mattered most to him were his family and the time he spent with the people he loved. His legacy endures in the many lives he nourished.
