Ivolene B. Clapp
She married Walter K. Clapp September 7, 1946 and together they raised their three children on the family dairy farm. Ivolene was a hard working farmer's wife, a loving mother and grandmother and an accomplished homemaker, having learned so much from Hattie Clapp, her grandmother-in-law, with whom they lived. Her gift was that of caregiver, taking care of her elderly father, a neighbor lady, her husband Walter, her mother-in-law Mildred and her beloved daughter Linda, as they became ill. People loved Ivolene wherever she went. Her kindness, goodness, sweetness and love always shined through. She genuinely cared for her family and friends and made each one feel special. She was a member of the local school and hospital boards and an active member of the Cooperative Extension and Christmas Clubs, the Howland Baptist Church and The Best Years Club.
Ivolene will be sadly missed but memories of her life and love will warm our hearts and bring a smile. Her love and goodness will continue through those who remain.
She is survived by her son Ken Clapp of Maxfield, her daughter Cathy Pingree and husband Sewall of Kingfield, her brother Waverly Boobar of Howland, her grandchildren Karen Halloran and husband Alfred, Matthew Clapp and wife Kimberly, Amy Carson and husband David, Amanda Pingree and Sterling Pingree, great-grandchildren Alicia, Logan, Mitchell and Olivia, and several nieces and nephews.
Ivolene was predeceased by her parents, her husband Walter, her daughter Linda Stone, her brothers Reginald, Shirley, Lawrence, Earl, Ronald, Phillip, sister Marsha and great granddaughter Emma Carson.
The family thanks Cummings Health Care for their loving care and compassion. A time of visitation will be held at the Howland Baptist Church, Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 1:00 to 2:00 with a service of celebration immediately following. Interment will be in the Maxfield Cemetery.
