Concord, NH, New Hampshire - Holly Lynn (Berry) Sutherland, age 61, of Ashland, ME, passed peacefully at her home on Sunday, May 3, 2026, into God's loving arms after a decade's long battle with EDS. She was born April 10, 1965, in Presque Isle Maine to John and Helen (Stevens) Berry.

She attended school at Ashland Elementary, and Ashland High School. She attended college for her junior and senior high school years at the University of Maine at Presque Isle. Holly graduated from Ashland Community High School in 1983.

Holly was known lovingly to her husband as "Kitten," resided with her husband of 24 years, Harold "Hal" Sutherland. They married on May 27, 2002, off the coast of North Carolina on a fine power boat that her husband, Harold, had helped build. She started her career working with native children living on the Passamaquoddy Indian reservation near Old Town, Maine. Later, she moved on to Columbus, Ohio, where she worked in finance for a number of large corporations. She spent many years working with various science fiction fan organizations for a number of charities and met and worked with many of our biggest science fiction movie stars. Holly was an avid knitter, an animal lover and a wonderful mom. Holly was a strong-willed and hardworking woman that loved her family. She enjoyed the outdoors, relaxing in her pool and rejoiced in all the wildlife that frequented the yard and the small pond near there. Holly enjoyed the teachings of Ariel Bar Tzadoc, and listened to him weekly. She was proud of her Native American bloodline, and studied Native American history and its animal lore. Holly had a special relationship with Cardinals, and considered them to be a spiritual connection. She formed strong bonds with the family bunnies, dogs, cats and especially our Akita, Cedar.

She is survived by her husband, Harold Sutherland; her daughter, Laurel Sutherland; her brother, Mathew Stevens; her father, John Berry of Ashland; and many other family and friends, specifically, a cherished friend, Dr Anni. She was predeceased by her mother, Helen Stevens; and a younger brother, William, who passed as an infant.

Family and friends are invited to visit with the family 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Sunday, July 19, 2026, at the Ashland Recreation Department. A celebration of life will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, July 20, 2026, at St. Mark's Catholic Church, Ashland, Maine.
