He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and had been a self-employed dairy farmer throughout his life. He enjoyed his farm animals and vegetable garden, and will be remembered as an avid hunter. Harvard was always willing to help his neighbors.
He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy, in 1991; and by his dear friend, Eleanor Whitney, in June 2012. He is survived by a son, Timothy and wife, Nancy Harding, of Plymouth; two daughters, Beverly and husband, Harold Small, of Newport and Jeanette and husband, Harry Nedley, of Prescott, Ariz.; a brother, Harold and wife, Margaret Harding, of Plymouth; six grandchildren, Kellie Werneth, Corey and Tyler Harding, Kimberly Patterson, Tracy and Troy Dyer; two great-grandchildren, Dominic and Arebella Werneth; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main St., Newport, with Pastor Matthew Bagley officiating. Friends may call 1 p.m. until the time of services. Burial will be at Sawyer Cemetery, Plymouth. Memorial donations may be made to Diabetes Association, 80 Elm St., Portland, ME 04101.
