Harris L. 'Larry' Dunn Jr.

October 22, 1937 - December 03, 2018

Old Town - Harris L. Dunn Jr. "Larry", 81, died Monday, December 3, 2018, at Westgate Center in Bangor, Maine after a period of declining health. He was born in Milford on October 22, 1937, the youngest child of Harris L. Dunn, Sr. and Gertrude A. (Tremblay) Dunn.
He grew up in Old Town. Larry was a 1955 graduate of Old Town High School and eventually graduated from the University of Maine in 1998 with a BS in University Studies. He was particularly interested in music and taught piano for a while. He operated the Southern Belle Flower Shop in the 1970s and eventually became a Senior Companion with the Eastern Agency on Aging. Larry had several eclectic interests and was particularly fond of history serving on some local history committees.
Larry is survived by his nephew, Philip Dunn Jr. and his wife, Cathy and family of Old Town, niece, Paula and her husband, Ralph Sprague Sr. and family of Milford; niece, Harriet and her husband, Joseph Garnett and family of Houlton; nephew, Charles Lucas Jr. and his wife, Fran and family of Fort Myers, Florida; niece, Trudy and her husband, Dean Fogg, and family of Enfield; and niece, Rose and her husband, Jim Provost, and family of Bingham. He is also survived by several cousins and their extended families. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Philip and A. Lorraine Dunn Sr. and their children, Mark, Patrick, and Alice; his sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Charles Lucas Sr.
The family would like to thank the staff at Westgate Center for their compassion and care of Larry during his time at their facility. A graveside service will be held in the spring of 2019 and will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Larry's name are suggested to the Old Town Museum, P.O. Box 375, Old Town, ME 04468.
