Smithfield, Maine - Harold Paul "Buzz" Buzzell, 74, passed away at his home in Smithfield, ME, on Sunday, October 29, 2023. Buzz was born on April 11, 1949, in Old Town, ME, to Harold L. Buzzell and Mary "Marie" R. (Morin) Buzzell.

After graduating from John Bapst High School in Bangor in 1967 and studying Forestry at the University of Maine in Orono for two years, Buzz enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served for over 22 years and received numerous medals and commendations, followed by a second career of civilian service at the Navy's Supervisor of Shipbuilding in Bath, ME.

Buzz was predeceased by his parents, Harold L. Buzzell and Marie (Morin Buzzell) Norton; and by his stepfather, Leroy "Sonny" Norton. He is survived by his wife, Heather Mood; his daughter, Stephanie Buzzell; his daughter, Tammy Buzzell and her husband, Zhaohui "Joey" Wang; his granddaughters, Juliet and Salena Wang; his brother, Michael Buzzell and his wife, Susan Buzzell; his nephew, Aaron Buzzell and his family; and many beloved members of the extended Mood, Buzzell and Morin clans.

Visiting hours will be held at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 26 Church Street, Oakland, ME from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 5, 2023, (parking on street). A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
