Glenn A. Strang Obituary

Brewer, Maine - Glenn A. Strang, 85, husband of Judith E. (Phillips) Strang, passed August 25, 2025, in Bangor after a brief illness. He was born Jan. 7, 1940, in Brewer, the son of Richard M. Strang, Sr. and Ina (Chambers) Strang.

Glenn grew up in Hampden and graduated from Hampden Academy in 1958. He served with the U.S. Army and later the U.S. Army Reserves. After his Army service, Glenn worked for Maine Central Railroad and managed Kenney Linoleum of Bangor. He began his beloved career in his late 20s as an estimator and purchasing agent for MD Hardy, Inc of Hampden, a job he kept until retirement at age 65. During retirement, Glenn missed his work and returned as an estimator for NS Giles until age 79. Glenn loved the time he spent at his camp with his family and friends and he especially enjoyed long rides in the boat.

Glenn was predeceased by his parents; and by a brother, Richard M. Strang Jr. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Judith (Phillips) Strang; three children, Juli-Ann Debeck and her husband, Garrett, of Bangor, Jeannie Hogan and her husband, Tom, of Eddington, and Glenn (Jay) Strang and his wife, Heather, of Bangor; eight grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. The Strang Family gratefully thanks the staff of Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center and the in house hospice care.

Glenn requested no formal services. A private burial will take place at a later date. For those who wish, messages and memories may be shared with his family on the tribute wall of kileyandfoley.com.
