Georgia Ng Obituary

Danbury, Connecticut - Georgia (Therrien) Ng, 61, lived her life with grace, generosity, and joy. She passed away on February 7, 2026, in Danbury, Connecticut, after a brave and determined battle with cancer, leaving behind a legacy of love that will long endure.

Raised in Milford, Maine, Georgia was deeply shaped by her roots and by the family she held close to her heart. She was the cherished daughter of her mother, Barbara Leonard (Greg) and father, George Therrien (Barbara). In adulthood, she was grateful to connect with her biological father, Donald McIninch Sr., forming a meaningful bond that enriched her life. All preceded her in death.

Georgia built a life centered on service and care. After graduating from Old Town High School, she attended Husson University, which aided her career launch into healthcare as a medical assistant and phlebotomist. She went on to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse, earning her bachelor's degree from Chamberlain University. Georgia worked as a registered nurse specializing in cardiac surgery and other clinical areas. Her career later expanded into healthcare information technology, provider education, and leadership. She earned a Master of Science in organizational leadership from Quinnipiac University and a certificate in legal nurse consulting in 2016.

Georgia also knew how to enjoy life. She delighted in time with her husband, Dennis, and with the family and friends she so effortlessly brought together. She loved to travel, sing karaoke, and immerse herself in the energy of New York City, especially its food, sights, and Broadway stages. In later years, she stepped into the world of performance, appearing in commercials and as a film extra, embracing new dreams with enthusiasm and courage.

To know Georgia was to know genuine love and care. She embodied a rare blend of beauty, grace, courage, determination, and warmth. Endlessly intelligent and quick witted, she was funny and deeply kind. As a nurse, she treated patients not only with exceptional skill, but with profound humanity, always seeing the person before the diagnosis. She was the one who remembered birthdays and important dates, who checked in first, who was always there. She instinctively protected the feelings of others and chose optimism even when life asked more of her than was fair. Her light never dimmed under hardship - it sparkled. Georgia moved through the world determined to leave it better than she found it.

Georgia is survived by her beloved husband and world, Dr. Dennis Ng; her siblings, Sheila Benway (Dwayne), Scott Therrien, Kathleene McErlain (Joseph), and Stephanie Spearin (Roger); Donald F. McIninch Jr. (Kathy), and Danny Costain (Lanci); along with many siblings by love, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Jeffrey McIninch.

A celebration of life will be held in the Bangor area in the spring.
