Old Town, Maine - It is with profound sadness that our family announces the passing of our beloved family member George William Avery, 70, of Old Town, Maine, who left us on May 14, 2026, after a brief battle with a terminal illness. He passed peacefully at home where he received continuous care, support, and love from his loving Aunt Linda, Uncle Lou, and Uncle Dick.

He was born on August 29, 1955, to his parents Barbara Avery and Ivan Cyr. He graduated in 1973 from Old Town High School and went on to obtain his Class A Commercial Driver's License and drive truck for more than 30 years. He worked for KB Corporation until the end of his career in 2018. When he was not driving truck George enjoyed visiting with friends and family and spending precious time with his cherished pets, Koko and Johan, both of which will be laid to rest with him.

George is survived by his parents; special daughter, Mary Ann (Matthew); son, David (Jennifer); grandchildren; special cousin, Michelle (David); and many other extended family members. He was predeceased by grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Many thanks for the care he received from NLH Hospice. Heartfelt thanks to the friends that came to visit at the hospital and home. George cherished these moments spent reminiscing. Thank you to Kiley & Foley Funeral Services for guiding the way.

A graveside service will be held on June 27, 2026, at 12 p.m. at Lawndale Cemetery, Old Town, Maine. George will enjoy one last ride in a "big rig" as his good friend, Jason, carries him to his final resting place. We welcome all to attend on this day.

George will be forever missed, loved, and never forgotten.
