Dexter, Maine - Gene Elwin Temple, 87, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026, at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta, Maine. He was born on March 27, 1939, the son of Floriman Joseph Temple and Madeline Edith (Scouville) Temple.

Gene is survived by his devoted significant other, Gladys Marie Strout; his three daughters, June Cordaro, Robin Temple, and Bobbie Taylor; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Gladys shared many years with Gene and remained a steadfast source of companionship and support. Her kindness, dedication, and care helped provide comfort and stability throughout his later years.

In addition to his parents, Gene was predeceased by siblings, three sisters and five brothers, and their spouses.

Gene's life was marked by many experiences and relationships throughout the years. Those who knew him will remember him in their own ways and cherish the memories they shared. Arrangements are in the care of Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Dexter.
