Palmyra, Maine - In Loving Memory

Gary Alton Armstrong "Hoss," of Palmyra, ME, left this world on May 19, 2025, at the age of 78. Gary was a beloved husband, father, brother, friend, and a source of inspiration to everyone with a kind heart and soul. He would always listen and never judge. He was an all-around beacon of love and kindness to all who knew him. Born on January 30, 1947, in Hartland, Maine, and spent most of his life in Pittsfield, ME.

Gary grew up surrounded by love and instilled with values that would guide him throughout his life. From an early age, he exhibited compassion, determination, humor, and traits that would leave an indelible mark on everyone he encountered.

Gary served his country in the United State Army from 1966 to 1968. He worked as an iron worker for Locals 496 and 7 for 30-plus years. He traveled nationwide, working on many large projects and made many friends

Gary was a devoted family member and cherished his time with loved ones. He found joy in tinkering on just about anything including fast cars. He loved his Sunday drives that were everyday drives. He always enjoyed three-wheeling with family and friends.

Gary is survived by his wife, Nancy Armstrong; four daughters and one son, Darcy Erb and husband, Jason Erb, of Newport, ME, Travis Bradbury and wife, Robyn Bradbury, of Old Town, ME, Crystal Bradbury and better half, Matthew Wilson, of Newport, ME, Yolanda Armstrong and fiancé, Jonathan Curit, of Milbridge, ME, and Saarah Armstrong of Palmyra, ME; four granddaughters, two grandsons, and one great-grandson. Gary is also survived by his brother, Charles Armstrong and wife, Sue Armstrong, of Pittsfield, ME; and sister, Julianna Getts of Indianapolis, IN. Gary was preceded by his parents, Everett and Myrtle McCarthy Armstrong; and two brothers, Murray Armstrong and Lewis Armstrong.

The celebration of life will be held at First Congregational Church, 132 Somerset Ave., Pittsfield, ME 04967, on June 7 from 12 to 4 p.m. There will be a private family burial service at a later date.
