Etna, Maine - Francis L. Lavway, 93, of Etna, passed away on April 8, 2026. He was born August 2, 1932, the son of Joseph and Pearl (Downs) Lavway.

Francis is survived by one brother, Lawrence; and a sister, Pauline Brailey. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Paul and Harland.

Francis graduated from Carmel High School and he was a veteran of the Korean War. In working years, he was employed by Guilford Industries of Newport and also worked for Banton, Inc. and Vic Firth of Newport until retirement.

Family and friends may gather at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Etna for a burial service.
