Bucksport - Francena "Susie" Worcester, 79, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, died on Sept. 9, 2019, in Orono. She was born Sept. 5, 1940, to Roswell Jack Davis and Nancy Bartlett Davis in Brewer.
Susie's greatest loves were her family and friends, and she showed her love through her actions. If anyone needed help, Susie helped. If there was reason to celebrate, Susie threw a party (and took pictures). If someone dealt with sadness, Susie listened and provided comfort. If her children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren were playing a sport, whenever possible Susie was there, cheering-and filming the game. And if there ever was anyone who knew how to love unconditionally, it was Susie.
Susie's family includes her children Edward, Nancy (and Kevin), Gene (and Wendy), and Jane (and Paul); her grandchildren Greg, Chris (and Lindsey), Tyler, Tatyanna (and Tom), Erica (and Travis), Zach, Paige, Jordan, Jason (and Olivia), and Olivia (and Trevor); and her great grandchildren Aiden and Chance, Blair and Barron, Sophia, Deegen, and Dexter. She is also survived by her brother John Davis; and sisters Bernice (and Al) Page, and Gerry (and Leroy) Mayhew.
Susie's nieces and nephews include Stan and Jimmy, Peggy and Roger, Ronnie and Scott. Her in-laws include Brinda, Cathy, Ed, and Joyce. Special friends include Janet, Jeff, Marty, Bertha, Laurie, Diane, Mary, JoAnn, Jeannie, Joe, Sue, Kelly, Eric, Josh, and Tom-and everyone at Bucksport Square as well as Susie's Senior Center Bingo buddies. "Friends walk with you side-by-side, and heart-to-heart."
Susie looked forward to being reunited in heaven with her parents; her daughter Laura; her brother Ralph; her sisters Nancy and Ella; her grandparents Samuel and Laura Bartlett and John and Cora Davis; her mother-in-law Bessie Worcester and her brother-in-law Chuck Worcester.
Besides her special people, Susie's passions were the Patriots and the Red Sox. She learned to love the Sox from her Grampy Sam.
Her message to her loved ones: "Love to all of you! You each touched my life in your own special ways. Keep your memories in your heart-I'll always be there in the memories we created together. Memories live forever! When you look up, I will be smiling down at you. When you're rooting for the Red Sox and the Patriots, I'll be rooting with you! And to celebrate our time together, toast me with a coffee milkshake."
Susie and her family are grateful to Dr. Glenn Rampe, Dr. Rodrigo Maewaga, the Lafayette Family Cancer Center staff, Jessica Fish, the Beacon Hospice team, and the kind caregivers at Orono Commons for helping them during Susie's final chapter.
A celebration of Susie's life will take place on Sunday, Sept. 29 from 1 to 3 pm at the Bucksport Senior Center, 125 Broadway, Bucksport, ME. Burial will be private at a later date.
