Passadumkeag - Tuesday, July 23, 2019, Fern Louise (Condon) MacDonald, 87, joined her loved ones in her eternal home in Heaven. She was born September 17, 1931 in Fort Fairfield, Maine to George and Laura (Butler) Condon.
Fern spent her life taking care of her family and friends. She was always the first to offer a kind word, a hot meal, or a shoulder to cry on. She was a devout and faithful Christian woman that spent her life, thanking God every day for his love and his saving grace. She taught Sunday school at the Passadumkeag Baptist Church in Passadumkeag, Maine for 45 years and faithfully attended that same church until she no longer had the strength to leave her home and attend church. Fern was an avid baker and made tremendous meals in her younger years. She taught her children and her grandchildren how to cook and make jams and jellies.
In addition to being a loving and caring wife and mother, she worked at the Greenbush Nursery in Greenbush, Maine for many years. Her love of anything green showed in all of the trees, plants and flowers that she tended to. She also loved to watch birds; the Cardinal being her favorite.
Fern was predeceased by her husband Ted MacDonald; her father and mother, George and Laura Condon; her brothers, George Condon, Gerald Condon, Hermon Condon, Irvin Condon; her sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie and Harold Kneeland; her great-grandson, Jeremy Pond; her daughters, Rhonda Ketch and Lyne MacDonald; her son, Scott MacDonald; and her son-in-law, Willard Tilton.
She is survived by three daughters, Nancy Tilton of Passadumkeag; Sally and John Mills of Franklin, NH and Cindy and Stuart Pond of Chester. She is also survived by five grandchildren; Angelia and Kevin Grant of Passadumkeag, Jennifer and J.C. St. Pierre of Enfield, Jessica McLeod and James Strout of Passadumkeag, Beth Martin and Chris Hawkes of Lincoln and Michael Ketch of Milford. She also had nine great-grandchildren; Jon Martin, Trystin McLeod, Kyle Grant, Hayley Strout, Whitney St. Pierre, Tim Martin, Nate Martin and Jeremy St. Pierre. She is also survived by a nephew, Keith and Julie Kneeland, a niece, Mary Ellen and Tim Thornton and a sister-in-law, Vella Condon. She also leaves behind many dear and close friends from her church family, which loved her dearly.

To Cindy, Sally and Nancy, So sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved Mom. I was just asking about her the other day and then happened to see her obit in the Lincoln News. I always thought Fern was a sweet lady, so kind and so gentle and willing to help anyone. She and my Mom were friends so many years ago and now they can rejoice together in heaven for seeing each other again.
May all the wonderful memories that you hold dear of your Mom ease the pain of her loss. She was such a nice, sweet lady. Take care and know that I hold you all in my thoughts and God holds her in His arms.

Sincere sympathy to all of Fern's family, especially Keith and Mary Ellen and their families. Fern was a wonderful woman, it was always a blessing to visit her and I'm thankful for the opportunity to have known her. Her faith was real and she was a true blessing! May her love for her Savior and memories of her give you comfort at this time. John 14:1-6
