Charleston, Maine - Evelyn Elvira (Duran) Hill, 100, the wife of the late Kenneth Hill, went to be with her LORD Sept. 6, 2017 at a Dover-Foxcroft Nursing Home. She was born Dec. 6, 1916 in Corinth, the daughter of Carroll and Alice (Stewart) Duran. She was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church where she raised her family in the love of the LORD. She had been an employee of Corinth Shoe Shop, a Brewer nursing Home and cooked at Bangor Osteopathic Hospital, Skolfield's Restaurant and East Corinth Academy. Evelyn worked very hard all of her life, working with her children picking potatoes, raking blueberries, pulling beans, sewing quilts, mittens and Christmas gifts and clothes for her children.

She is survived by her children and spouses, Kenlyn Georgia Weymouth of Charleston, Nathan Oscar Arthur Hill of Corinth, Carroll Virgil Hill of NB, Canada, Rebecca Meridith Tingley of Ocala, FL, Isaiah Haven Hill of Sebec, Judith Eva Gellerson of Dudley, NC, John Douglas Hill of Kenduskeag, Patricia Ruth Sinclair of Hammond, IN, Frederick Herbert Hill of Bucksport and Lois Allison Hill of Corinth, and has one deceased son, Wilbur Casson Hill.

She is survived by a sister, Winifred Speed of Corinth and was predeceased by a brother Lyndon Duran and two sisters, Verna Casson and Carolyn Duran.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 11, 2017 at the Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth, with burial in Corinthian Cemetery, Corinth. Following the burial, everyone is invited to join the family at the Corinth Baptist Church for fellowship and refreshments.
