Eva Arlene (Cunningham) Allen Obituary
Corinth, Maine - Deep in our hearts a memory is kept of one we love and shall never forget. God looked down upon earth and saw her tired face. He closed weary eyelids and whispered "peace be thine". He put his arms around her and lifted her soul to rest. Eva's spirit was released from her earthly struggles and a long battle of Alzheimer's disease and beautiful angel gained her wings.
Eva, 68, was born in Bangor, Maine, on March 17, 1952, a daughter to the late John and Ruth Cunningham of Hudson, Maine.
Over the last six decades, Eva was given many blessings in life. A fiercely determined and passionate woman. A beloved wife, a living mother of seven, grandmother of five, and a great-grandmother of two.
Family was the pivotal essence of her life, a true matriarch. A mother's love is something that no one can explain. It is made of deep devotion, sacrifice and pain. It is endless, unselfish and enduring.
Reunited again with her loving husband, George P. Allen Sr.; and her three sons, Lyman, Christopher and Matthew. She is survived by son, George P. Allen Jr. and wife, Constance of Arlee, Montana; and daughters, Eva (Allen) Barta and husband, Franklin, of Houston, Texas; Kerry Allen of Bradford, Maine, and Denise (Allen) Grabofsky and husband, Robert, of Corinth, Maine.
She is also survived by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Family will be gathering to say a final farewell. Sharing stories, to laugh, to cry and remember a life well lived.
