Ervin M. Marston Obituary
Bangor, Maine - With a heart full of kindness and a life dedicated to his family, Ervin Miles Marston, 89 years old, left this world on April 12, 2026. Ervin was born on June 13, 1936, in Millinocket, Maine, to Roland and Stella Marston.
He was a graduate of Stearns High School and began his military service career after graduation, proudly serving in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from the Maine Air National Guard in Bangor, as a chief master sergeant, after 40 years of military service. During his school years, he met the love of his life, Ann. They were married in August 1957 and until Ann's passing, they were married for 66 wonderful years! He was a loving and proud father, grandfather, great-grandfather. His favorite pastime was sharing stories about his past and connecting with all he met. After Ann passed, his days were brightened by chats and visits from his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He valued an honest day's work, took pride in his community and was always willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends. He had a positive can-do attitude that made an impact in all he accomplished! A dream to complete the camp his father built before his early death was realized when he returned to Maine. He enjoyed spending time at camp with his family, especially sitting on the porch in his rocking chair looking over the lake and view of Mt. Katahdin. During retirement Ervin and Ann spent 23 winters in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, where they enjoyed meeting new friends, fishing in the ocean, and always looked forward to grandchildren visits to their "winter camp." Ervin's favorite saying was not goodbye, but simply, "See you later alligator"!
Ervin will be greatly missed by sister, Rhonda (Jeff) Hopkinson; daughters, Beth (Chris) Enman and Cheryl (Mark) Hoover; grandchildren, Dana (Ryan) Leet, Sarah (Kyle) Knowlton, Justin (Lydia) Enman, Erick Hoover, Aaron Hoover; great-grandchildren, Camryn and Ryan Jr. Leet, Jamie, Connor, and Bradley Knowlton, Berkley Enman, and Christian Hoover; sisters-in-law, Nancy and Susan O'Connor; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and his family of friends at Solstice Senior Living Community in Bangor. Ervin was predeceased by his parents; beloved wife, Ann O'Connor Marston; son, Mark Marston; grandson, Andrew Hoover; brothers-in-law, John and David O'Connor; and sister-in-law, Shirley O'Connor.
