Corinth, Maine - Eleanor Joyce McLaughlin, 82, the wife of the late Dwight A. (Skip) McLaughlin, died unexpectedly August 15, 2019, at a Bangor hospital.

She was born September 25, 1936, in Charleston, the daughter of Aubrey Thomas and Iona A. (Gellerson) Hill.

She was a graduate of Higgins Classical Institute in Charleston, and worked several years at the Corinth Shoe Shop as a foreman, and later at B.M.H.I. as a secretary. Eleanor was an avid reader and loved her crosswords. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family.

She is survived by her children, Donna Caron and Ron of Glenburn, Jeffery McLaughlin and Stephen McLaughlin, both of Corinth; four grandchildren, Danielle and her husband, Warren Withee, Zachary and his wife, Brooke Caron, Ashley Lacadie and Joshua McLaughlin; two great-grandchildren, Skylar and Everly; a sister, Norma Nasset; and many other family and friends.

Friends may call 3-5 p.m. Sunday, August 18, at Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at Corinthian Cemetery, Corinth.
