Edna Marie Leach Obituary

Prospect, Maine - Edna Marie Leach, 85, passed away January 14, 2026. She was born and raised in Prospect.

Edna graduated in the class of '59 from Searsport, and shortly after went on to marry her one and only true love, Leroy Leach. Edna spent many of her younger years as a housewife and mother before going on to waitressing for many years at the Sail Inn. She was an active member of the Prospect Community Club and helped maintain the town cemetery for more than 40 years with her sister. In her spare time, she had a passion for gardening, she liked to read, do puzzles and knit, but most of all loved spending time with her family. She had a heart of gold, and all the town kids called her mum.

Edna was predeceased by her husband, Leroy Leach; and is survived by her beloved children, Marta and husband, Jim, Denise and husband, Tom, Sue, Mearl and wife, Billiejo, Dan and wife, Patricia; grandchildren, Brandon, Casey, Brittany and Zachary; great-grandchildren, Lillian and Liam-Roy; her very special sister, Dodie Webster; and many nieces, nephews and special friends that will miss her dearly. Edna will be deeply missed, forever loved and always remembered for her strength, warmth and the love she gave so freely to her family, friends and community.

A celebration of life will be held February 7 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Prospect Community Center.
