MILBRIDGE - Edna "Althea" (Dubuque) Heirtzler passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME. She was born on June 27, 1939 in Worcester, MA.

In 1959, Althea married her husband, "Bob" in Worcester. She became a homemaker and raised 3 children. She always made home cooked meals for her family, especially on Sundays.

After Bob's retirement in 1999, they decided to move from East Hartland, CT to Milbridge, ME. Althea enjoyed visiting Old Orchard Beach, Acadia Park, and feeding seagulls by the ocean.

She loved spending time watching old television shows and her favorite game shows, with her best friend and husband, Bob. They spent their days together playing cards while watching the boats and wildlife outside their bay window. Althea's favorite singer and movie star was Elvis Presley. She was known for her love of animals, especially her cats, Hope and April. Althea will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" Heirtzler of Milbridge, ME; son, Robert J. Heirtzler of Waukegn, IL; daughters, Mary Heirtzler of Winsted, CT and Michelle Seymour and husband, Bruce of Barkhamsted, CT; grandchildren, Meghan Cranouski of Hartland, CT, William Cranouski of Hartland, CT, Jessica Seymour of Barkamsted, CT, and Sarah Seymour of Barkhamsted, CT.

Althea's memorial service is schedule for 3pm, Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home in Milbridge. Committal service and burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Milbridge.
