Northeast Harbor And Hackettstown, N.J - Dorothy Haynes Haskell, 87, formally of Northeast Harbor, died peacefully on June 26, 2016 at her home in Hackettstown, New Jersey. She was born February 3, 1929 in Northeast Harbor, the daughter of Roger H. and Sylvia (Pinkham) Haynes.


Dorothy graduated from Gilman High School and worked for the Knowles Company and the Rockefeller Estate in Maine. In 1952 Dorothy married Sterling E. Haskell, also of Northeast Harbor. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2012. After raising her family, she completed her education receiving a Master's Degree and worked for Medical Care Development in Augusta as the Director of Grants Management and Program Policy. After retiring to Florida she and her husband enjoyed playing golf together as well sailing. Dorothy also was an avid duplicate bridge player.


Dorothy is survived by her son, Bruce Haskell and wife Helen of Long Valley, New Jersey; 3 grandchildren, Bridget Corby of Long Valley, NJ, Neil Haskell and Liza Haskell, both of Morristown, NJ and 2 great grandchildren, Andrew and Brendan Corby. She was predeceased by her husband.


Interment will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery, Northeast Harbor, with private graveside prayers to be held in the fall.
