Donna Carmen Bubar Obituary
Brunswick, Maine - Donna Carmen (Conlogue) Bubar transitioned from this existence to the next on May 10, 2019 after a brief illness. Born in Dexter, Maine, Donna moved with her parents, Earl David and Stella (Kneeland) Conlogue to Forest, Maine where she attended grade school and eventually attended Lee Academy before graduating and attending the school of nursing in Portland at Maine General Hospital.
In 1950 she married E Earle Bubar and they made their home in Brookton, Maine raising four children. She was active in the Danforth Library and the Danforth Garden Club, also volunteering at the Brookton Grammar School as a reading tutor. Donna was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She and Earle enjoyed their home, their life together on the local lakes and, in retirement, the two of them traveled extensively. They spent a decade of winters greatly enjoying the climate, fishing and friends they made in New Zealand.
Donna is survived by one sister, Elayne Turner of New York and she leaves three daughters and one son; Deborah and husband John Foster; Earle Bubar; Carmen Bubar and husband Gary Koy; and Michelle and husband Scott Curtis. She dearly loved her six grandchildren; Dan Foster, Matthew Foster, Kaasen Koy, Clarke Bubar, Nathan Curtis and Emily Curtis. She was also delighted with her four great-grandchildren; Lila and Hannah Foster of Oregon and Ruby Foster of Brunswick and Amelia Moseley of Nevada.
Her family plans a graveside service in mid-summer at the Brookton Cemetery and friends and family are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, 11 Hunnewell Lane, Scarborough, ME 04074. Arrangements are in the care of Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal Street, Brunswick. Condolences can be expressed by visiting www.brackettfh.com
