We are shocked and saddened of Don's passing. He was the guy with the smiley eyes that evidently covered up an internal pain. He was always kind and considerate of others . We thought of him as part of our family. He will be missed!

So saddened to hear about Don's passing. He and I worked together at Acadia Insurance for many years. He was an amazing mentor, teaching me about timber harvesting and sawmills to name just a few things. He shared so much of himself, not only his knowledge in these areas but his life's learnings. He was always patient, kind and caring. He was always there to help you. He was always willing to take time to listen to you and help you along your way. His smile was infectious. His hugs were the best. We shared a Jamison or two along the way - times I will long remember. I am hoping he is at peace and am hoping his family and friends are sustained by the memories of such a great man. ...Here's to you - Don Curtis!Read more

I am truly saddened to hear of Don's passing. I was fortunate enough to work along side him for over 15 years. He taught me so much on the forestry industry and the equipment utilized for it. He expanded my Master Technician knowledge by teaching me the Fire Prevention systems in machinery and I was able to witness the changes he able got done with the manufacturers on Logging Equipment to control losses.
I will always remember him, his smile, his demeanor and his ability to be a mentor.
RIP Don and I will see you on the other side....someday.

I worked with Don. As an inexperienced loss control rep, Don was my go to guy for all things involving sawmills, logging and fire protection. He was always patient, was an incredible teacher, so intelligent and one of the nicest people I have known. We stayed in touch after I left Vermont and Acadia and I always enjoyed our conversations. We did not agree on all things but could always have a good conversation and walk away friends. Don was always very compassionate and thoughtful in his approach to life. I will miss him but will value the memories I have of him and the time I spent with him.
