Diane Kay Snow Obituary

Springvale, Atkinson, and Charleston, Maine - Diane Kay Snow, 79, passed away peacefully, September 4, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, ME.

She was born January 11, 1946, in Bangor, ME, the daughter of Pauline E. (Stockwell) and Orman A. Speed Jr. Diane spent most of her childhood in Charleston and raised her children there. She graduated from Higgins Classical Institute in 1964 and always considered herself a Charleston girl.

Diane was first and foremost a loving and supportive mother, grandmother, much loved sister, and aunt.

Professionally, Diane enjoyed working with numbers. Memorable was the time she spent working at HA Higgins & Son Agway in Charleston, ME. One of her proudest achievements was co-owning a successful family business, Snow's AG and Saw Shop in Atkinson, ME, for many years.

She relished the time spent with friends - whether on the Allagash canoeing, taking snowmobiling trips, camping with her family or playing Dominoes around the table. She also enjoyed traveling the East Coast attending NASCAR events, vacationing out West in Wyoming, visiting her sister in California, as well as making several trips to Europe, traveling toItaly, Sweden, and Switzerland. She was involved in many community clubs and events. In her later years, she enjoyed spending time shopping with her sister, Lori, celebrating holidays together with her entire family, and sharing in the milestones of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Diane is survived by her son, Michael Snow II and wife, Shelly; daughter, Ellen Larrabee and husband, Alan; three grandchildren, Lauren Gaudet and her husband, Brian, Jordan Larrabee and her partner, Ben, and Jade Harmon and her husband, Robbie; five great-grandchildren, Brynn, Charlotte, Kennedi, Everett, and Bailey; and two sisters, Lorraine Everett, and Faye Speed and wife, Katherine; special nieces, Diane and her husband, Tony, and their children, Alex and Payson, Teresa and her husband, Dan, and their child, Kate, and Julie and her husband, Stephen, and their children, Ben and Sophie. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Howard Speed; her brother-in-law, Jerry Everett; and the father of her children, Michael E. Snow.

The family expresses gratitude for the care that Diane received while she was living at Dover Rehab, Summer Commons and at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. Special thanks to Chaplains' Nathan, Benny, and Karin for the compassion they demonstrated with Diane and family at MMC Sanford.

A graveside memorial service will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2025, in the family lot in at Hillside Cemetery, Bradford, with her daughter-in-law, the Rev. Shelly Snow officiating.
