Danforth - Dave Springer was born on January 30, 1937, the son of Erma (Spinney) Springer and Otis Springer in Danforth, Maine. He passed to his new life on Sunday, October 14, 2018. Dave lived a full life and retired from the military having served in the United States Air Force and United States Navy respectively. After retirement he drove a school bus for MSAD #14 for many years. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Hazen Springer; and sister, Isabelle E. Irish. He leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Lorraine Springer; daughter, Monica Turner; and granddaughters, Jenna and Jill Turner, all of Arizona; son, Dave Springer and wife, Roslyn; and son, Dave Christopher Springer of California. Other family members remaining are sister, Loretta and husband, Maurice Fredette, of Hermon, Maine; sister, Ione and husband, Keith Wood, of Danforth; and a special twin brother, Darrel Springer of Weston, Maine.He leaves behind many cousins, nieces, and nephews. As a member of the Danforth Baptist Church, he served in positions of Trustee and Deacon. Starting at a young age he was an avid hunter in the Danforth and Weston areas and he finally bagged his 'Big Buck' in 2009. Declining health curbed his hunting activities, but he always enjoyed talking to others about their hunting experiences. The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018, in the Danforth Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m., with visiting and viewing preceding at 10:00 a.m., followed by the committal service at the Eaton Cemetery. After all services a time of refreshment and reflection will be held at First Settlers' Lodge in Weston, Maine. Anyone who wishes may make a donation in Dave's memory to the Danforth Baptist Church.
