Carmel, Maine - Danny Albert Ray, 65, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, after a long and hard-fought health battle. Danny was born on January 29, 1960, in Bangor, ME, to Priscilla (Hughes) Ray and Forrest Ray Jr.

He grew up in Carmel, ME, where he laid the foundation for a life spent working with both his hands and his mind. He graduated from Hermon High School and later attended EMVTI, where he studied drafting - a trade he practiced for most of his life. Danny was a builder at heart. You could almost always find him working on his home, improving it piece-by-piece with care and pride. He had a lifelong love of trains and found great joy in his model railroad, a passion that reflected both his creativity and attention to detail. He was married to his wife, Laura (Trainor) Ray, with whom he shared 44 years of life and family.

Danny was predeceased by his parents, Priscilla Ray and Forrest Ray Jr.; and by his son, Christopher, who passed at birth. He is survived by his loving wife, Laura; his sister, Debbie Pete and her husband, Ray; his daughter, Jennifer; his son, Kelly and wife, Carrie Dwelley; his son, Benjamin and wife, Nikki; and his two cherished granddaughters, Delia and Brooklynn.

Danny will be remembered for his quiet strength, his dedication to family, and his love of building - whether it was a home, a project, or a lifetime of memories.
