Dale S. Griffeth
Dale was raised on the family farm in Woodland, where he developed his fondness for friends and family and learned the value of hard work. Dale served in the U.S. Army from 1958-1960, in the C Battery 3rd Gun Battalion 39th artillery. After serving his country, Dale went into the auto repair business, working with his brother Wallace for a time at the West Gate Exxon, then opening his own garage for a number of years. Dale's next adventure was as a heavy equipment operator. He worked from New Orleans, Louisiana to Springfield, MA working for 20 years in the Union Local 98. During this time, he met many friends and made many special memories.
Once he retired, Dale enjoyed spending time visiting at his favorite spots, including Griffeth Ford and the American Legion Hall. Dale loved to play cribbage, puttering in his garage and relaxing at camp. During this time friends and family became the most important aspect of his life. He will be remembered as a special family member and fierce friend by many people.
He is survived by his wife, Leatha (Johnson) Griffeth, his daughter Heidi, and her husband, Tim Conroy, his grandchildren, Amber and Peter Conroy, his brothers Leon and Ronald Griffeth, several nieces and nephews including special nephew, Neal Griffeth, special niece, Kim Sutherland and best friend, Stuart Sutherland.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Pauline Lannier, Lloyd Griffeth, Helen Olmstead, and Wallace Griffeth.
